For the Cook Islands, an individual and independent Occupational Safety and Health National Reform come into force. An awareness campaign is to be created for this purpose.

Corporate Design Development
Name finding from OSH to MAKO. Which in Maori means "All OK!", "All Good", etc. Creation of a friendly and distinctive design, which should appeal to every age group. In addition, a mascot - a cock, should be developed, as well as a coconut which can be used as an illustration in many ways.

Launch of the campaign
To launch the campaign, a large march was organized on International OSH Day with numerous participants - local people, guest workers, young people, older people, etc. The new law creates a basis for action at every level and is expected to come into force in 2021.
Safety Guide
INTRODUCING the “MAKO” guide. Our efforts to change the way we work in the Cook Islands continues. Today, 27th April 2021, we launched the MAKO a guide as part of the lead up to International OSH Day 28th April. This booklet is the Cook Islands first health and safety guide.
